The numbers don't lie and they're pretty high

The fourth quarter of 2014 is almost half passed, which means that companies are posting their financial results for the third.

Technically, NVIDIA posted the financial report for its third fiscal quarter, which doesn't always coincide with the calendar one. Luckily for us, for NVIDIA it mostly does, even though the current fiscal year ends in January, so it's called FY2015 instead of 2014.

So what does NVIDIA have to say? How did its sales go? Apparently, they have gone quite well and are expected to continue doing well now that the Maxwell GPU range “is a giant leap forward that has triggered a major upgrade cycle by PC gamers.”

NVIDIA made $1.23 billion / €990 million in revenue last quarter, with a profit of $173 million / €138 million. That's 16% better than the sum of a year before and 11% better compared to the second quarter of this one.

Add to that the revenue of the first and second quarters of fiscal year 2015 and you get a record revenue of $3.43 billion / €2.75 billion (15% more than the previous year).

All in all, NVIDIA is doing very well now that the tablet craze has passed, and it's unlikely that the next fad (wearables) will impact its sales much, if at all.
