Just now, NVIDIA has unveiled its 340.84 Quadro graphics package which is compatible with the Tesla, GRID, and NVS video chipsets, as well as with its Quadro display cards.

This newly released update improves overall performance compared to the previous NVIDIA Quadro Graphics Driver 340.66 release, and also includes various workstation compatibility fixes.

When it comes to compatibility, this version can be applied on both desktop and notebook configurations that are powered by one of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems, either 32- or 64-bit variants.

Moreover, even though it’s only available for desktops, this release can also be installed on computers that are running one of the Server 2008 64-bit, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2 platforms.

As for the changes, NVIDIA’s latest announcement adds a new application profile for Rhino, the imageStore calls will work properly with multisample textures on Quadro K2000M cards, and the Cinema 4D driver won’t crash repeatedly for Quadro K series devices.

In addition to that, no extra lines will be displayed when using clipping plane and edge flags on Femap, and, regarding the Solidworks 2014 program, GFlags with “Enable page heap” selected won’t cause the app to crash when accessing libraries from the “File Save As” dialog.
