A new version of the GeForce driver is available for download. Among its key features are the security update for nvvsvc.exe, added support for NVIDIA TXAA, multiple performance boosts, and updated SLI and 3D Vision profiles.

To begin with, the American manufacturer announces that GeForce 6 and 7 series will pass on to Legacy support from now on, therefore becoming unsupported by the R310 drivers.

This release introduces NVIDIA TXAA, a new anti-aliasing technique, in order to reduce crawling and flickering in motion.

Performance increases have been noted on the GeForce 400/500/600 series GPUs compared to the previous version of the R304 driver, 310.42 WHQL.

The list of graphics improvements for games comprises numerous titles, but the one that caught our attention was Total War: Shogun 2. Run on a GTX 680 and with the latest game patch installed, the recorded graphics boost was of 60%.

Key fixes cited by the changelog include the following issues: intermittent vsync stuttering with GeForce GTX 600-series GPUs and overclocked cards default to and run at lower clocks.

We leave you with the download link, so you can stay “updated one minute ago.”
