It seems that the younger sibling to NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 580, known as GTX 570, has also failed to reach its intended launch date without its specifications being leaked ahead of time, or at least without the specs of Palit's model reaching the web.

Some time ago, NVIDIA brought out the first 500 series GeForce video card, the flagship GeForce GTX 580.

Said video controller is based on the GF110 graphics processing unit and is currently the most powerful single-GPU card on the market.

Those interested in such things will also likely know that the Santa Clara, California-based GPU developer has also almost finished the GeForce GTX 570.

Set to replace the GTX 470, this card is scheduled to make its official appearance on December 7, on the same day as Blizzard's expansion pack to World of Warcraft (WoW: Cataclysm).

Needless to say, NVIDIA has kept silent about the performance numbers, but a recent leak stumbled upon those of Palit's own model.

Apparently, the board will have 480 CUDA cores, as well as 1,280 MB of GDDR5 VRAM, which works on a memory interface of 320 bits.

The GF110 GPU has a frequency of 732 MHz, whereas the shaders and memory boast clock speeds of 1,464 MHz and 3,800 MHz, respectively.

Of course, being powered by the Fermi architecture, DirectX 11 is fully supported. Open GL 4.1 is also supported, as are NVIDIA's own technologies, like PhysX, CUDA and 3D Vision Surround.

Finally, the card has a TDP (thermal design power) of 225 W and connects to displays via dual-DVI and mini HDMI ports.

Of course, pricing details are not available as of yet, although considering that the official launch is only nine days away, consumers won't have to wait too long for this final detail.

What remains to be seen is how many sales the board scores during the holiday season.
