The notebook we are going to talk about here is somewhat of a contradiction, but we've seen stranger things, so we'll let that pass in favor of telling what is what.

Eurocom has formally introduced the Monster 1.0 laptop, whose name would lead one to imagine a big and strong laptop.

Oddly enough, the name, in this case, is not precisely indicative of the prowess, although the CPU and GPU aren't half bad.

Instead, the Monster 1.0 has a screen size of just 11.6 inches for some reason.

Speaking of which, the native resolution of the LED-backlit, glossy or matte LCD (depending on user choice) is 1,366 x 768 pixels.

That said, we guess there might be people who travel a lot and would like something so small to play games on.

It definitely helps the item's case that the battery life is said to be of 410 minutes, which is just short of 7 hours.

Sure, Optimus has to intervene and make sure the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, 2 GB DDR3 discrete GPU isn't constantly used, but still.

"EUROCOM Monster provides workstation-calibre performance, powerful graphics capabilities and high performance storage in an extremely small and lightweight notebook computer," states Eurocom President, Mark Bialic.

"This little guy weighs under four pounds, with a battery, has the power of a full sized notebook, and has 410 minutes of battery life, it's truly the best of both worlds."

For those interested, GT 650M has 384 CUDA cores and a GPU clock speed of 850 MHz.

All other specs are pretty decent too: 8 GB DDR3 RAM, up to 1 TB storage, a bunch of USB 2.0 / USB 3.0 ports, VGA, HDMI 1.4a, Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.

As for the CPUs, prospective buyers will have to decide between Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge. Go here to see everything available for the Monster 1.0 and maybe even order one. The starting price is of $817 / 656 Euro.
