It really seems that NVIDIA wants to have as many brand-new GeForce 500 series graphics cards in the channel as possible before AMD gets to officially roll out the HD Radeon 6900 series, at some point around mid-December, since they're apparently set to release yet another GPU, the GeForce GTX 570.

So, as TechPowerUp informs us, it looks like some specs pertaining to the future graphics card from NVIDIA have already managed to make their way online, and the same goes for the release date, which is apparently set for next week.

Of course, given the fact that only a month or so has passed since the official outing of the GeForce GTX 580, the world's fastest DirectX 11 card, it should come as no surprise that the 570 is actually closely related to its more powerful sibling, especially since it shares the same GF110 GPU.

Furthermore, it would seem that the GTX 570 will have 480 CUDA cores, accompanied by 1280 MB of 320-bit GDDR5 memory running at 950 MHz (3800 MHz effective), which are more alike to the GTX 470 and 480 than the 580.

However, one can expect some seriously enhanced graphics from this thing, given the fact that the CUDA cores will run at 1464 MHz, the cores at 732 MHz, while the memory bandwidth will be set at roughly 152 GB/s.

It's also interesting to mention that the TDP will be lower than in the case of the 580, since power consumption is rated at 225W.

All we can say right now is that we're eagerly looking forward for the official release of the card, not to mention the flurry of announcements that will ensue, since, as things usually go in such cases, we're most likely just about every NVIDIA partner rolling out its own version of the card.

Plus, we're also very, very curious to see what's going to happen with the HD Radeon 6900 series, and whether NVIDIA's move will affect AMD's marketing strategy for their flagship cards or not.
