NVIDIA announced yesterday that its GeForce graphics processors would be included in Apple’s entire Mac lineup, a move that would deliver superior computing experience to Mac users. The NVIDIA GPUs are able to accelerate popular visual computing applications such as HD video, image editing, video transcoding, and games, and the company believes that its solutions are the best options for any user.

In addition to the chip maker's announcement, Apple also states that it has introduced new versions of its iMac and Mac mini, which now include NVIDIA's award-winning GeForce 9400M GPU, the same solution with integrated system core logic that can be spotted with the MacBook family. Moreover, the 24-inch iMac now offers the possibility to include in it a GeForce GT 120 or GT 130 GPU, so as to be able to enjoy extra graphics horsepower and further enhanced gaming experiences.

In addition, Apple also announced the introduction of a new Mac Pro that comes to users with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512MB of GDDR3 memory. The high-performance graphics card is able to deliver almost three times the performance levels delivered by any of the previous-generation systems. In addition, users will also be able to opt for an ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics card, which will provide them with even more computing power. At the same time, all MacBook and iMac computers that are available at Apple retail stores will include GeForce GPUs exclusively.

According to the two companies, the new Mac lineup available features the following graphics processors: MacBook Classic comes with GeForce 9400M, and the same graphics card can be spotted on MacBook and MacBook Air, while MacBook Pro ( both 15” and 17”) includes the GeForce 9400M and GeForce 9600 solutions.

Apple's Mac mini will come with GeForce 9400M as well, and so will the 20-inch iMac. The 24-inch iMac allows users to opt between GeForce 9400M, GeForce GT 120, or GeForce GT 130 (although the systems powered by a 2.93GHz or a 3.06GHz processor allow for configurations with an ATI Radeon HD 4850 as well), while Mac Pro will be available with GeForce GT 120.
