14 DAY TRIAL // Japanese anime fans, in particular those who love the Evangelion franchise, will be thrilled to know that NTT Docomo plans to release a special NERV edition Sharp SH-06D smartphone.
The smartphone will be released in June for a price that will be disclosed in due time. According to NTT Docomo, Sharp SH-06D NERV edition will be shipped with a pre-loaded Evangelion content and user interface elements designed by director Hideaki Anno's Khara studio.
Hardware-wise, the smartphone boasts a stunning 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution and 16 million colors.
Unfortunately, the handset will be powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, but an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade is not out of the question.
Sharp SH-06D NERV edition will be showcased at the Nottv booth during the Anime Contents Expo later this month.
