NTT DoCoMo has released quite a large number of new 3G FOMA handsets, ten, to be more precise. Eight of the phones are included in the 703i Series, N703iì (iì is pronounced i-mew), P703iì, D703i, F703i, N703iD, P703i, SH703i, and SO703i.

All of the 8 phone models are pretty slim and good looking, with the N703iì and P703iì apparently being the thinnest W-CDMA clamshell handsets in
the world. Another phone among those unveiled, the SO903iTV comes with a high-resolution LCD featuring Bravia technology, high-quality audio and 1Seg digital TV tuner.

Japan's top wireless operator has also presented a mobile phone that you might have seen before, a dual LCD concept phone manufactured by Mitsubishi and showcased some time ago at the Hong Kong International Telecommunications Union. The D800iDS's design will in fact remind you of the Nintendo DS. The clamshell phone is equipped with screens both on the upper and the lower side, while the one on the bottom will be used instead of a typical keypad, making text input easier.

According to DoCoMo, users will be able to send hand-written messages and drawings as e-mail attachments, while 'DS' has been used in the name of the new touch-pannel phone stands for 'direct and smooth', although at first thought most people out there would have associated with Nintendo DS.

The whole ten models will become available soon, with the N703iD starting to be marketed on January the 26th, the other 703i series models and the D800iDS being scheduled for February and the SO903iTV expected to be launched in June. Which means that DoCoMo customers will now have quite a few options when going to purchase a phone.
