NOD32 Among The Most Powerful Antiviruses

Security vendor Prevx conducted a market research to find out how many malware and spyware files are threatening our computers every day and which are the best antiviruses on the market. The results showed that 5,000 to 10,000 malware and spyware files are discovered every day while 60 percent of the business computers without any security tool contain at least one dangerous file. According to a graph released by the same security vendor, AVG and NOD32 are the first two technologies which manage to defend the computer on which they are installed. The last places show Webroot and Trend Micro as the solutions with the highest infection rate.

"It is time that the major security firms owned up to the fact that their products are failing to protect consumers and businesses from a myriad of dangerous spyware and malware and the threats these pose to their customers and shareholders. It is also time that businesses began to speak out, even if anonymously about the thousands of breaches they are experiencing every day. The reality is that computer security is looking weaker by the day. There are a number of major security firms that appear to be focused on breadth rather than depth of protection," Prevx's CEO, Mel Morris stated.

We all know that you have to install a security technology on your computer in order to use the system without any threat but it seems like some software solutions can become pretty useless due to some extremely dangerous infections. In fact, it was already known that a simple vulnerability in one of the security products installed on your computer can enhance hackers' activities who aim to invade your system.

"The volume of new malware we are processing each day is rising geometrically. Our automated research system has been designed to handle this and actually performs better with scale. We are now collecting almost 3 Gigabytes of new unique samples from our user base each day," said Jacques Erasmus, Director of Malware Research at Prevx.
