EA Sports released a brand new gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated NHL 15, showing off the fancy new visuals and the power of the new Ignite engine.

The next installment in the popular hockey video game franchise came to Gamescom 2014, taking place in Cologne, Germany, showing the massive leap in visuals since last year.

In addition to this, publisher EA Sports also announced fans of hockey that in spite of the fact that the game took its title from the North-American National Hockey League, the upcoming game would also feature European leagues.

Furthermore, the publisher also let fans know that a playable demo for NHL 15 would become available on August 26, ahead of the game's official release for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, on September 9.

This is in line with EA's tradition of releasing demos of their sports games two weeks before the games' release, in order to allow players to try them out and see for themselves if they warrant a purchase.

While the team did break the tradition with Madden NFL 15, which won't be getting a demo, just a trial version exclusive to EA Access, the subscription-based service only available on the Xbox One computer entertainment from Microsoft, it appears that the company is determined to maintain it with their other big franchises.
