The development team at EA Sports is so sure of the engine included in the recently launched NHL 15 video game that they have run a full season simulation using the technology and are predicting that the 2015 Stanley Cup will be once again won by the Los Angeles Kings, who will beat the Boston Bruins in the final.

The developers state, “Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick will lead his team to the Cup, while Kings alternate captain Anze Kopitar will win the 2015 Conn Smythe Trophy, awarded to the most valuable player to his team in the playoffs.”

Sidney Crosby from the Pittsburgh Penguins will pick up a host of awards, including Hart Memorial Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, Maurice “Rocke” Richard Trophy, and Ted Lindsay Award.

The Los Angeles Kings manage to get past the Chicago Blackhawk in the Western Conference finals and the Boston Bruins defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets in the East.

NHL 15 predicts that The Calgary Flames will be the team which will finish last in the regular season.

The simulation conducted by EA Sports uses the core engine of the new hockey sim and a wide array of real life data for each player and team, with results extrapolated by the game when two teams meet based on ratings, line combinations and other factors.
