EA and Slightly Mad Studios have just revealed more details about the newest racing game in the Need for Speed franchise, Shift 2 Unleashed, and how it will have a special Limited Edition, complete with pre-order bonuses like special cars.

The Need for Speed franchise isn't taking any pit stops, and right after EA and Criterion Games released Hot Pursuit a few months ago, a new title is being prepared by Slightly Mad, a sequel for 2009's NFS: Shift.

[admark=1]Shift 2 Unleashed has now received fresh details about what special goodies gamers who pre-order the game will receive.

If you opt to put your money down for it ahead of its release next spring, you will gain immediate access to three exclusive cars: the Nissan Silvia Spec R Aero (S15), the Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

Players will be able to race those cars, and more, in 40 special career events, ranging from Single-Type ones, which requires just one type of car, Old versus New challenges, or Manufacturer Showdown, that amps up rivalries between different car brands.

All of these races will be chronicled by the Autolog feature, as seen in this year's NFS: Hot Pursuit, and will allow players to compare their performance with friends over the web.

We heard a few weeks ago that NFS: Shift 2 Unleashed will be a serious upgrade from the original Shift title, complete with a new graphics engine, an innovative helmet camera system, night racing and other racing simulator systems, besides the trademark in-cockpit view.

EA is extremely confident in the new racing game, and already called out other, prestigious racing simulators like Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport, saying that they can't beat the upcoming Shift 2 title in terms of fun and intensity.
