In a rather disappointing move, Criterion Games, the studio behind the recent Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit racing game, has revealed that the PC version of the title won't be getting any of the downloadable content released up until now for the consoles, specifically the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The announcement was made on the forums of the game, where a representative unveiled that Criterion didn't have the resources to bring the console DLC to the PC platform

"We have a limited amount of resources that makes it so that we are unable to deliver new content to all platforms," said a rep.

There is still a glimmer of hope, however, as the representative did mention that some sort of content would be making its way to the PC in the near future.

"We do have more updates and content on the way for PC players," the Criterion rep said on the forum thread.

No other details were disclosed, so perhaps it's better not to set your hopes too high regarding any new cars or tracks that may appear in the PC version of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

On the console side, the game already received quite a lot of new content in the form of various packs.

At first, the Racer and Cop Timesaver packs were launched, which unlocked all of the cars and tracks for players.

After that, Criterion revealed the SCPD Rebels DLC, which brought certain cars from the Cop campaign to the Racer one.

At the beginning of the week, the studio also launched a free car pack, with the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition, bundled with a title update for the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the game.

Last but not least, another car and mission DLC, the Super Sports Pack, will be launched later this month.

Hopefully Criterion will be able to make PC NFS: Hot Pursuit owners happy with some of the content mentioned above.
