Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will get some brand new cars this month, in the form of both free and paid downloadable content, released by its development studio, Criterion Games.

First off, we have the three convertible cars that were set to be released if a certain video of the game reached 1 million views on YouTube.

Sadly, that goal wasn't completed, but EA and Criterion still decided to offer the cars for free, seeing as how the video did reach an impressive 660,000 views.

As such, owners of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will be getting the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition completely for free.

The three new cars will be included in a title update set to be released later this month.

Next up, the already-announced Super Sports Pack DLC has just been dated and priced for the two consoles.

The pack, in case you didn't catch the official announcement, will feature three of the world's fastest supercars: the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the Gumpert Apollo S and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport.

Besides the new cars, 13 new events will be added, both for the racers and the cops, in the game's single-player mode.

The Super Sports Pack will be available for download on December 21, for the Xbox 360, and one day later for the PlayStation 3.

Gamers can purchase them from the Xbox Live Marketplace, for 560 MS Points, or from the PlayStation Store, for $6.99.

Sadly, all this content won't be reaching PC or Nintendo Wii owners, who have yet to receive any of the previous downloadable content packs released for NFS: Hot Pursuit.

The racing game already received two Time Saver packs, for both the cops and racers, as well as the SCPD Rebels one, which added police exclusive cars to the racer campaign.
