Wireless carrier AT&T announced on Friday that its AT&T U-verse TV would soon offer a new NFL RedZone channel to its users. The addition, which comes as the result of a partnership between AT&T and the NFL Network, will become available for U-verse TV football fans as soon as the NFL season opens on Sunday, September 13.

The new sports channel from NFL Network, NFL RedZone, provides football fans with fast access to the most important moments of NFL Sunday football. U-verse TV customers will experience each play within the red zone as soon as a team gets inside their opponent's 20-yard line. In addition, NFL RedZone also provides live look-ins and highlights from different games, so that users are kept up to date at all times.

NFL RedZone comes to users on channel 1629 as part of the U-verse HD Premium Tier. U-verse HD subscribers can benefit from the Premium Tier for an additional $5 per month. AT&T U-verse offers a series of attractive features to users, including HD-ready equipment, with an HD-ready Total Home DVR in almost every package, recording options for up to four programs, programmable DVR recordings from a mobile phone that has Internet access, picture-in-picture browse capability, the AT&T U-bar, and more.

“NFL RedZone is a new and exciting way to stay on top of Sunday football, and we're proud to kick off the NFL football season by adding this channel to our lineup. U-verse TV football fans will truly enjoy tuning to NFL RedZone to watch the touchdowns and the biggest plays as they happen on their big screen TV,” said Dan York, executive vice president of content and programming, AT&T Converged Services. Kim Williams, chief operating officer for NFL Network, also stated, “We're excited to offer NFL RedZone to AT&T U-verse football fans so they can see the important plays from NFL games. U-verse TV customers across the country are going to enjoy this special channel produced by NFL Network.”
