NETGEAR has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its WC7520 wireless controller, namely version 2.5.0.28, which resolves various connectivity problems for Apple iOS users, encountered on devices such as iPhone and iPad.

If you have been encountering this issue within your wireless network, do consider upgrading the WC7520 ProSAFE unit to this latest firmware version.

To do so, get and extract the downloadable archive, log into the device’s web user interface, go to the Maintenance tab, click on the “Upgrade” link from the submenu, and then on the “Browse” button from the Firmware Upgrade section.

Now, navigate and select the newly-extracted “wc7520_m5-2.5.0.28.bin” file, and click “Apply” to initiate the upgrade. Since the firmware update takes some time, bear in mind that while installing it you mustn’t interrupt the process in any way so that the device doesn’t encounter any problems.

When the new version has completely installed, the wireless controller will automatically reboot. At this point, you should log into the device’s web interface and check the currently installed firmware to ensure the process has been successful.

However, the ProSAFE unit still experiences some problems that you can view on the description page of this download. We expect that the current known issues be resolved along with future firmware releases.

Until then, download Firmware 2.5.0.28 for NETGEAR WC7520 Wireless Controller, apply it on your device, and constantly check with our website in order to be the first to know when a new version is available for download.
