NETGEAR has made available a new firmware package developed for its R7000 wireless router, namely version 1.0.3.56, which includes a few changes that improve the device’s overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, this fresh release adds support for DFS Channel (for Japan), resolves the 5G bridge mode that was unable to connect, and fixes the iTunes Home sharing feature, which wouldn’t work via bridge mode.

When it comes to installing version 1.0.3.56, you should first know that it would be best if you performed the upgrade using a wired connection instead of a wireless one, since the latter can disconnect very easily.

That being said, write down all the changes that have been made from the default values (you will need to re-enter them manually after the update), get and extract the downloadable archive, and log into the router’s administration page.

Now, go to Advanced Tab → Administration → Firmware Upgrade → Browse, navigate and select the firmware file from within the newly-created folder, click the “Upload” button, and allow the R7000 to apply the new version.

Bear in mind that, during the installation, powering off or rebooting the device can result into an update failure that might corrupt the router’s software or even render it unusable.

That being said, download NETGEAR R7000 Router Firmware 1.0.3.56, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and check with our website as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
