Today, NETGEAR has made available a new firmware package targeted at its R7000 smart router, namely version 1.0.3.68, which resolves several connection issues for the Nighthawk device.

Specifically speaking, the new release fixes the Comcast IPv6 connection problems, adds support for Genie 5G wireless configuration, and resolves the issue with the IPTV that would freeze in some countries.

In addition to that, the IPv6 bug that caused the connection to be lost after 2-3 days of use has been removed, the problem where the traffic meter incorrectly counts the LAN as WLAN traffic has been fixed, and the web GUI language can now be set to French without any crashes to be encountered.

Moreover, the PPPoE IPv6 is now able to properly obtain the Wide Area Network IP address, and the WPS login won’t disconnect for no reason anymore.

If you intend to make use of these changes, get and unzip the downloadable archive, log to the router’s administration page using a wired connection, and save the configuration that you have changed from the default settings (they will be required after the upgrade).

Now, go to Advanced > Administration > Firmware Upgrade > Browse, navigate and select the “R7000-V1.0.3.68_1.1.31.chk” from the newly created folder, click the “Upload” button, and wait for the firmware to be transferred and applied to the router.

That being said, all that is left to do is to download NETGEAR R7000 Router Firmware 1.0.3.68, and apply it to the Nighthawk device. Also, check out our website as often as possible to be the first who knows when a new firmware is available for your unit.
