NETGEAR has outed a new firmware update targeted at its R7000 Nighthawk router, namely version 1.0.3.60, which can be applied regardless of the operating system installed on your computer.

This fresh release resolves a possible memory leak issue that might have crashed the wireless connectivity and fixes the problem with the downstream quality of service (QoS) that had a negative impact on normal traffic.

In addition to that, version 1.0.3.60 resolves the router reboot problem encountered due to an invalid DNS reply packet and modifies the device’s behavior so that it doesn’t disconnect as a result of BitComet using a large amount of network sessions.

As for installing this release, in order to dodge any wireless disconnections, first connect the router to the computer using an Ethernet cable, then get and extract the downloadable archive on your local storage.

Now, log into the router’s user interface, go to Advanced Tab → Administration → Firmware Upgrade → Browse, navigate and select the “R7000-V1.0.3.56_1.1.25.chk,” and click the “Upload” button.

At this point, the firmware update is transferred to the router and, when finished, the device will automatically initiate the upgrade process. Upon completion, don’t forget to perform a factory reset – a good idea after any new firmware installation.

That being said, download NETGEAR R7000 Router Firmware 1.0.3.60, take into account all aforementioned aspects, apply the package, and enjoy your newly-improved smart wireless router.
