NETGEAR has outed a new firmware package developed for its PTV3000 wireless display adapter, namely version 2.4.53, which can be applied regardless of the operating system powering your computer.

When it comes to changes, the present release fixes the issue encountered on some DELL devices where the notebook would hang because of the wrong address reference when receiving the action-frame.

In addition to that, the AP SKU wifi_mgmt.cfg and p2p.conf have been modified so that the first WiFi band is not requiered anymore when pairing with Sony mobile phones, and the Miracast connection won’t terminate even if keep alive isn’t received in certain wireless devices.

As for the supported Miracast platforms, the new firmware is compatible with devices such as Amazon Kindle Fire HDX, Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4, Nexus 4 and 7, as well as several other products that you can view on the description page.

Therefore, if you intend to apply this release, save the downloadable .bin package, power on the WiDi adapter and put it into update mode by pressing and holding the side button for about 7 seconds.

Now simply search and connect to the adapter’s SSID using the wireless network manager utility, log into the device’s administration page via an available web browser, and follow the instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation.

That being said, download NETGEAR PTV3000 WiDi Adapter Firmware 2.4.53, apply it on your device, and check our website as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
