NETGEAR has outed a new firmware version targeted at several of its switch units, namely build 10.0.0.44 developed for the GSM7352Sv2, GSM7328Sv2, GSM7228PS, and GSM7252PS devices.

This newly released update includes several changes that improve the compatible devices’ overall performance and stability.

If applied, this version fulfills a feature request for Java support in the management ACL list, and resolves an issue where administrators wouldn’t be able to use a routed interface in order to ping the VRRP virtual IP address.

In addition to that, through firmware 10.0.0.44, the switches’ console will not hang when session times out, the POE compatible cameras now work properly instead of rebooting repeatedly, and the cable test will now show appropriate status even for empty ports.

Moreover, the SSH Session Timeout range that differed for the GUI and CLI is now configured correctly, the DHCP server now responds in unicast address if users send a request, and the configure file can be applied to the switch even if copied from a USB stick.

As for applying this release, refer to the update guide provided within the downloadable archive, and follow the steps precisely. Also, bear in mind that interrupting the upgrade process can cause serious malfunctions to the device.
