Features an ultra-thin design which measures just 9.9mm (0.39 inches)

While most of us are more accustomed with seeing Android being used in smartphones and tablets, NEC has been working on developing an ultra-thin notebook concept that uses Google's mobile OS, and has recently showcased its creation to the press.

What's cool about NEC's MGX prototype is that the device measures just 9.9mm (0.39 inches) in thickness and weights only 350g (slightly more than BlackBerry's PlayBook tablet), all while coming with a 7-inch 1024×768 OLED display with multitouch support and a foldable keyboard.

This latest addition is particularly interesting since it enables users to fold it away under the screen and use the MGX as a tablet, while, when needed, the keyboard can be easily accessed without too much effort.

The clever design will be backed by HSUPA and Wi-Fi connectivity as well by a battery life of 10-hours.

Sadly, NEC doesn't see the NGX making it into the market earlier than 2013, so who knows how will things evolve by then.
