NEC provides a wide range of products, services and supply equipment to a variety of market segments and, as far as the personal-solution business is concerned, it provides PCs, mobile handsets and Internet services, among other things. The company is developing products and services that are simple and convenient for everyone. As part of this policy, NEC is improving and enlarging its product offer by integrating the latest advancements in CPU making into its all-in-one desktops. The company is employing Intel's 32nm chips in its family of ValueStar M All-in-One desktop personal computers.
The new desktop PCs combine the processing power of Intel's chips with large amounts of memory, Full-HD LCD screens and significant storage capabilities. The ValueStar W series all-in-ones are powered by Intel Core i5 or i3 central processing units, have a memory capacity of up to 4GB and a total hard drive storage capability of as much as 1TB. The actual CPU used in the configuration is a choice of the Intel Core i3-530 chip, with a clock of 2.93 GHz, and the 3.20 GHz Core i5-650 central processor.
The all-in-one desktops from NEC are designed with liquid crystal display panels whose maximum resolution is of Full-HD 1920 x 1080 pixels. The actual screen may be either a 21.5-inch or a 23-inch display. Other specifications of the ValueStar W include, or may include, TV tuners, HDMI outputs, multi-card readers and even a USB 3.0 connectivity and a Blu-ray drive. This means that the ValueStar W-series all-in-one desktop personal computers are fully capable of a Full-HD multimedia playback. To this functionality may be added a set of Yamaha speakers for high-quality sound when performing multimedia applications.
The PCs may come colored red, black and white and will become available for purchase in Japan on February 10th. All systems run the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
