Eager to restore the so-called freshness factor to its product line, NEC came out and presented two of its latest computers, the Mate MG all-in-one desktop and the VersaPro UltraLite VB laptop.

The VersaPro UltraLite VB is a mobile PC with a screen size of 12 inches, whereas the Mate MG AiO has a display size of 19 inches.

Both of them are aimed at the business/professional markets and, thus, are equipped accordingly, though their prices may not strike onlookers as particularly accessible.

At the heart of their configurations lies an Intel central processing unit, which can be anything from a less powerful Celeron model to a Core Series model.

The available Intel Core options include Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs, the strongest available being the Core i5-560UM. The selected CPU is backed up by 2 GB of RAM (random access memory).

Needless to say, the machines boast integrated graphics, which should be more than enough for whatever office task one may have the newcomers undertake.

Furthermore, they naturally come equipped with the predictable range of connectivity and I/O options, the list including Gigabit Ethernet and, in the case of the VersaPro, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi .

As a bonus, the AiO has a special technology that, by means of a sensor, detects when the user leaves the desk, turning the backlight of the screen off when appropriate.

The laptop's method of saving power comes in the shape of an Eco Mode. The laptop is also sturdy enough to cope with 150kg of pressure and the keyboard is even splash resistant.

Both newcomers are pre-loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 Professional operating system and have already been priced, though the tags may not be easy to cope with.

The Mate MG has a price of 181,000 yen ($2,161), whereas the VersaPro UltraLite VB starts at 175,000 yen ($2,089).
