The LCD displays' market is constantly evolving whether we're talking about your ordinary PC monitor, high-definition TV sets or huge, widescreen panels, used in large venues or for commercial purposes. And a very good example of this constant evolution is the latest announcement from NEC
who has just launched its MultiSync LCD6520 LCD model, the largest direct-view display ever offered by the company.
The device is available in both portrait and landscape version and features a 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution with a 2000:1 contrast ratio, 6-millisecond response time, as well as Ambix+ Technology, which supports both digital and analog inputs.
And since we're on the subject of inputs, it's worth mentioning that the display sports AV inputs for HDMI, composite, S-Video, RCA and mini-pin JACK, while an optional digital tuner is available for the landscape model. Moreover, the display also incorporates a built-in expansion slot, which allows for seamless integration of third-party components (CAT5 receiver, Single Board Computer, HD-SDI, DVI loop-thru for Daisy Chain set-up).
The LCD6520 is embedded with NECs Digital Signage Technology Suite (DSTS), which includes more than 20 features and functions developed specifically for digital signage, thus making the displa a good solution for the transportation, corporate, medical, retail, and hospitality markets. Furthermore, the LCD6520 includes commercial grade technology for 24/7 usage, as well as display management controls, which lower the level of energy consumption.
"The MultiSync LCD6520 gives messages and images the wow-factor needed to reach targeted audiences that are becoming immune to static media," said Hans Baumann, Senior Product Manager for NEC Display Solutions. "By bringing commercial-grade quality and a value-rich feature set, the 65-inch MultiSync LCD6520 delivers big results with maximum impact."
The NEC MultiSync LCD6520L-AV (landscape version) and LCD6520P-AV (portrait version) are available for around $18,499.99 and $19,999.99, respectively, which might seem like a huge price point, at the first sight, but it's actually pretty fair, taking into account the display's size, features and, more importantly, targeted applications and customers.
