NEC's Displays division, one of the world's leading vendors of commercial LCD displays and projectors, has just announced the introduction of its new 23-inch desktop display, designed to provide a choice for a 16:9 widescreen monitor for use in the enterprise business environments, education and government applications. Dubbed MultiSync EA231WMi, the product offers the latest display connectivity options, but also adds the integrated 4-port USB 2.0 hub a number of additional features that make it a noteworthy alternative to other 23-inch desktop displays.

“Our innovative 23-inch product offers a variety of new technologies to our desktop line, bringing the best features available to our customers and achieving the highest standards for ergonomics and environmental friendliness,” Lynn Gu, product manager for NEC Display Solutions, said. “The EA231WMi is a ‘green display’ that utilizes several features for the user’s advantage, creating settings that lengthen the display’s life and working cohesively with any environment in which it is placed.”

As far as technical specifications go, the new NEC MultiSync EA231WMi has been featured with a number of connectivity options, including a DisplayPort, VGA and DVI, in addition to the integrated 4-port USB 2.0 port. The display is compliant with EPEAT Gold, Energy Star 5.0 and TCO 5.0 specifications and boasts a three-step ambient light sensor for an automatic brightness adjustment. There's also a one-touch button for ECO Mode and integrated multimedia speakers with headphone jack. The display can be installed on the 4-way ergonomic stand, while a built-in carrying handle allows users to easily transport the display to their desired location.

NEC has announced that its new 23-inch display will be available to customers starting this month with an estimated street price tag of US$379. In addition, the company says that the monitor ships with a standard three-year parts and labor warranty, including the backlight.
