NEC America Launches the MultiSync E222W Monitor

NEC launches new 22-inch monitor in the US

NEC Display Solutions' US division has just announced the introduction of its new 22-inch MultiSync E222W monitor, designed to provide users with an eco-friendly alternative to other, larger computer monitors currently available on the market. According to its manufacturer, the new MultiSync E222W is capable of provide users with a high-quality display that can help them reduce the total cost of ownership through a series of specifically designed features.

“The MultiSync E Series provides an enhanced environment for business users by reducing the amount of hazardous emissions and creating a higher level of productivity,” said Lynn Gu, product manager for NEC Display Solutions. “The MultiSync E222W is an incredibly eco-friendly and energy-efficient display, as it utilizes 50% less power and contains half the amount of mercury compared to traditional LCD monitors. This display is registered as Energy Star 5.0 and EPEAT Silver and includes features that enable our customers to extend their displays’ lifecycle and save money in the long run, which is vital given the current economic situation.”

The MultiSync E222W will provide users with a 22-inch 1680 x 1050 native resolution monitor, featuring a 250 cd/m² brightness, 5ms response time, a 4-way ergonomic stand with 110mm height-adjust tilt, swivel and pivot. Additional features include a 5-setting Dynamic Video Mode (standard, text, movie, game, photo), Intelligent Power Management (IPM) system and off timer. The new NEC monitor is also compliant with Energy Star 5.0 and EPEAT Silver certifications and is said to be capable of delivering a consumption reduction of 50%.

According to NEC, the new MultiSync E222W will become available starting this July with an estimated street price tag of US$269, also including a 3-year parts and labor limited warranty. The new monitor is expected to provide users with an alternative to similar products from leading vendors such as LG and Samsung.
