NEC announced a new monochrome, 21.3'' amorphous silicon (a-SI) TFT LCD module (LCM), and claims the panel has the highest resolution in the industry, showed Digitimes.
The new model has a resolution of 2800 x 2100 (nearly six mega-pixels), and with that surpasses the NEC high-end module NL256204AM15-01/01A, which has a resolution of 2560 x 2048. NEC's super-fine TFT (SA-SFT) technology enables a brightness of 1000 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
The commercial production of the new LCM is targeted for mid-2007 and the new product will be displayed at FPD International 2006 in Yokohama, Japan (18 - 20 October).
