The modern re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica is over after four complex and engaging seasons. The Syfy channel is now running a prequel of sorts, called Caprica, and it seems that parent company NBC is interested in moving the experience online, by delivering a MMO based on the setting. The game should be browser based and will be created by a developer called Bigpoint.

Battlestar Galactica tells the story of a ragtag human fleet that survived a devastating surprise Cylon attack and are now looking for Earth as their last hope for salvation.

The basic premise can serve the MMO genre well, with players able to fill one role in the machinery of the Colonial Navy while doing battle with Cylons and managing the complex social relations that develop inside the fleet. It's not clear whether the basic plot of the game will mimic that of the television series or whether players will be able to spin their own narrative.

Bill Kispert, who bears the long and complicated title of vice president and general manager of digital platforms for Universal Partnerships & Licensing, says that “Battlestar Galactica is a supremely gameable intellectual property, with compelling character classes, a fantastic array of ships and weaponry, multiple worlds, and a dramatic storyline. We are excited to work with Bigpoint - and our partners at Universal Cable Productions and Syfy - to bring an epic, accessible, and 'always on' BSG experience to fans of the franchise and online gamers alike.”

The initial statement from NBC and Bigpoint seems to be describing a product that could be pretty similar to what Star Trek Online is offering, but with an added coat of Battlestar Galactica angst and Cylon terror. The two companies are showing off their project at GDC and more details on the Battlestar Galactica MMO could be out soon.

Bigpoint is a con.
You need to look into the workings of the game “DarkOrbit”.
The support team never seem interested in anything we (the paying customers) have to say, they just sweep most of our complaints under the carpet. I have been unable to play the game on 3 occasions because of coding errors and have dropped in rank by what cost me roughly over £100 and hard work to attain. Not once did I receive an apology or any form of compensation. Therefore, I have wasted money on your game. I call it being robbed.
And the support team constantly accused me of being a cheat that was later proven to be another coding error. You need to keep more of an eye on your support team and inchat mods/admin.
I was once told by a support member that even if I attempt to go higher with this that any email will only end up back with them, that’s how obnoxious they can be. “Fine, any communication in english gets back to the english supporters anyway,
nevermind where you sent it”
The chat admin/mods need to be vetted more closely than they already are, they ban people mostly for no reasonable reason, most of them can’t even string a sentence together and don’t understand the context of most words.
There are so many complaints that are swept under the carpet by your so-called support team.
Just as you are posting your advertisements on the net, I too am posting my complaints on the net. I believe it to be my duty in protecting the unsuspecting public against the treatment received from employees of bigpoint.
Every rip-off, scam-site on the net is going to hear about the following. I am sick and tired of them using a bug as an excuse.
“This site has a gold premium package that costs £35 for 12 months use, they are giving people 9 months use in the hope that people won't notice seeing as it continues to the next year if not cancelled. I unexpectedly cancelled mine which they didn't notice, and a month later my premium ended after only 9 months. When I noticed this, they deleted my account after I have spent hundreds of pounds on their site. They didn't like the fact that I discovered their scam and have covered their tracks.”
DarkOrbit is running one big scam and their coders are useless, maybe you at bigpoint did or didn’t know about this but, I suggest you look into this. Although, I know it will all be denied.
