As announced a while back, 2013 marks the year when Michael J. Fox returns to the small screen after a prolonged absence caused by being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. The first trailer for his new series is embedded above.

“The Michael J. Fox Show” will premiere in the fall, airing on Thursday nights.

By the looks of the first trailer, it will turn the actor’s disease into comedic gold. The series mirrors events in Fox’s own life.

He plays an NBC reporter who retires after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s but who, after a while, decides to go back to work, much to his family’s relief.

The trailer is funny and fresh, avoiding clichés or unwanted sentimentality on such a topic. As it says, Michael “still got it.”
