If you’re still reeling over news that your favorite TV show has been canceled, perhaps you might be tempted to fill the gap with a new one, coming to your TV this fall. NBC has just premiered the first trailer for “Constantine” and, I will admit, it looks quite good.

You can find it embedded in full and in HD below.

The Constantine story must be familiar even to those moviegoers who don’t know it is based on the DC Comics Hellblazer, since it was first brought to the big screen in 2005 with help from Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz.

Constantine is a demon hunter whose soul has already been damned to hell. He helps mankind send all creatures from hell back where they belong but, in NBC’s version, he’s all but given up on it. In fact, once he finds out that his soul is damned to hell, he just “retires.”

He is forced to come out of his self-imposed retirement when he finds out that Liv, the daughter of one of his best friends, has become the next target of the demons. In a short time, he learns why this is happening: apparently, she has a gift too.

Together, they will travel the country and rid it of this “ancient evil” that’s threatening to take over completely.

An exact premiere date has not been announced yet, but the trailer says it’s in the “fall.”
