14 DAY TRIAL // Great news for Miley Cyrus’ fans who didn’t get the chance to see her live on the road with her Bangerz Tour because, this Sunday, NBC will air a special put together with footage from her shows. E! News has confirmation.
“There are few recording artists with the global success achieved by Miley Cyrus,” Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment president of Alternative and Late Night Programming, says.
“This unique special will offer an exclusive peek on how she engages with her crew and fans at one of her hugely popular concerts,” Telegdy adds.
That Miley is popular is no secret: after all, despite the controversy around her stage antics (a sample of which is available above), her ridiculously revealing outfits (ditto), outrageous statements made on stage in the spur of the moment, and even boycotts from concerned parents, Bangerz is a best-selling tour.
However, it’s these very things that make the announcement from NBC all the more surprising: when various media outlets, parents, and even fans decided that her show was too vulgar and gratuitously crass, how will NBC be able to air it?
This brings us to another question: will they be doing heavy editing on it so as to take out all offensive gestures, foul language, and too-revealing getups? Is this special more like a documentary with carefully edited shots, or is this is a proper concert movie that leaves nothing out?
We’ll find out this Sunday, July 6. Miley for one is super excited that she’s getting the TV treatment and she’s been tweeting about it non-stop.
