NBA Live 15 aims to deliver an accurate simulation of the sport of basketball, and that means gamers expect the developers at EA Sports to make sure that each aspect of the game is well represented, with player ratings that reflect the real world capabilities of the players.

For the three point shot ratings, the studio says that the best player in the simulation is Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks, who has a rating of 95.

The official announcement states, “Korver led the league by shooting a blistering 47.2% from deep. Even with defenses geared to stop him, Korver set an NBA record by hitting a three in 127 consecutive games.”

Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors is in second place, just one full point behind, and also has solid dribble and catch and shoot skills that make him useful for any team that employs him.

Third place in the ratings for NBA Live 15 belongs to Klay Thompson from the same team, with 223 three point shots made and a percentage of 41.7 percent.

Kevin Durant is fourth, once again without getting a proper shotgun from EA Sports, and his other skills make him a versatile and very good choice for gamers looking for options.

Jose Calderon from the New York Knicks, who has 91 skill points, is the last featured player, and the developers state that he “is quietly one of the league's best snipers from deep. Last year, he finished fourth in the league by sinking 44.9% of his threes. Chances are he'll get some open looks playing alongside Carmelo Anthony this season.”

NBA Live 15 and the pressure to perform

The new basketball simulation from EA Sports is under a lot of pressure to deliver accurate player representations, both in terms of ratings and physical presence, and solid gameplay mechanics.

The series has failed to deliver quality titles for the last few years and will have a hard time competing with the rival NBA 2K15 experience from 2K Sports and Visual Concepts.

NBA Live 15 will be out on October 28 in North America and on October 31 in Europe and can be played on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft.

The focus on current-gen consoles allows EA Sports to use the Ignite engine in order to deliver high quality visuals and gameplay mechanics that are easy to understand and to use in order to win matches.
