NBA Live 15 will have to deliver a very solid gameplay experience if it aims to compete with the already launched NBA 2K15 title, and the developers at EA Sports are offering gamers a chance to take a look at how the defensive aspect of the basketball sim has been tweaked and improved since last year.

The studio says that responsive controls and simple ways to position players in the best spots to stop attacks are the most important elements of the new system and are designed to mesh well with the changes made to offensive gameplay.

EA Sports is offering a short video showing some of the changes and also reveals the many moves that gamers can choose from in order to make their team perform well.

The game simulates a wider range of actions for players on the court and that means that the entire game is closer to its real world counterpart.

The team explains that, "Players can set a number of defensive options – both at the coach and player level. Use these to tailor the defense to your playstyle, or make adjustments to shut down the opponent."

NBA Live 15 gives fans options to decide how to use elements like on and off ball pressure, balls screens, off ball screens, force direction, in post, double team and double team post.

EA Sports is aiming to make sure that gamers can create strategies that are actually employed by real world teams but that they also have the freedom to create their own concepts and implement them using the game engine.

NBA Live 15 aims to deliver quality and choices

NBA Live 15 faces an uphill struggle because of the problems that the basketball simulation title from EA Sports has faced in the quality department in the last few years.

The company says that it has listened to the feedback coming from players and that all aspects of the experience have been re-designed in order to use the Ignite engine and to deliver a highly realistic take on the sport, with great-looking players and accurate mechanics.

The basketball game should be easier to control, even for newcomers, and it should offer more tactical options than ever before.

NBA Live 15 will be out on October 28 in North America and on October 31 in Europe and can be played on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft.
