Video game developer EA Sports is launching NBA Live 15 today, the basketball simulation that’s supposed to revive the fortunes of the series, and the company is aiming to generate as many sales as possible in the first week by offering all those who pick up the title before November 6 access to 10 Gold Premium packs for the Ultimate Team mode.

The studio says that the overall value of the extra content is of more than 30 dollars or Euro and gamers can use them to search for better players that they can then integrate in their line-up in order to challenge both friends and rivals.

The special NBA Live 15 offer is available in all outlets where the title is sold and EA Sports says that it is designed to thank the fan community for the fact that they have supported the development of the experience and to give them an incentive to start playing online as soon as possible.

EA Sports states, “NBA LIVE 15 arrives with the most photo-realistic visuals in franchise history and 500+ core gameplay improvements delivering a truly fluid, fun and authentic basketball gaming experience. Reimagined visuals drop you courtside alongside the game’s biggest stars. See the intensity on a player’s face as he nails a game-winner, or the frustration of a heart-wrenching loss.”

NBA Live 15 faces an uphill struggle

NBA Live 15 needs all the help it can get on launch because it faces an uphill struggle when it comes to generating sales.

The series has been affected by quality issues for a few years now and one title was canceled after the demo was launched because the community reacted negatively to its core features.

For NBA Live 15, EA Sports announced that it was making improvements to both the defensive and the offensive gameplay, with more ways to get players into position and enforce teamwork.

A partnership with Synergy Sports also means that gamers will get access to updates for every match of the season, which will influence the rating of both players and teams.

NBA Live 15 will be offered only on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony in order for the team to be able to exploit the power of the new generation of consoles.

The rival NBA 2K15 from 2K Sports is already on the market and has received mostly positive reviews from basketball fans.
