EA Sports offered a first glimpse of NBA Live 15's improved visuals today, offering a number of close-up shots of in-game characters.

The reveal was made on the official NBA Live 15 Facebook page, where six close-ups of NBA stars Paul George, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, James Harden, Blake Griffin, and Steph Curry show the level of detail that EA's basketball video game promises.

NBA Live 15 seeks to address the complaints regarding its predecessor's underwhelming visuals on next-gen platforms last year, as well as to improve on the gameplay mechanics that were also found lacking in its last incarnation.

"We've scanned a majority of the league, and the new player heads, combined with refined player models and new lighting, makes our characters look really amazing," Sean O'Brien, the game's executive producer, said on the game's blog.

He added that the development team wanted teams to play just like their real-world counterparts and, in order to achieve that, EA spent a lot of time talking with NBA coaches in order to gain a better understanding of their strategies and philosophies.

NBA Live 15 is scheduled to come out on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next-generation consoles on October 7, during one of the busiest weeks in gaming. The first details concerning gameplay will be revealed in July, with more updates to follow in August and September, offering an in-depth overview of the enhanced mechanics.
