Xbox Live Community Manager Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has confirmed that NBA Live 13, the now canceled basketball game from EA, was supposed to appear as a downloadable game onto the Xbox Live Arcade.

NBA Live 13 was meant to mark a reboot for EA’s basketball series after the cancelation of NBA Live 11 and it seems that the switch to a new developer – EA Tiburon – didn’t go so well, as the company has also canceled the new title.

Now, it seems that a few new details have surfaced concerning the basketball game, as Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb revealed on his Twitter account that NBA Live 13 was supposed to be this week’s downloadable Xbox Live Arcade release.

This practically confirms an older rumor, which said that NBA Live 13 would appear only digitally for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Sadly, as we now know, the game won’t appear on any platform, so basketball fans will have to make due with 2K’s NBA 2K13, which has just been released earlier this week.
