EA Sports decided to organize the fist annual NBA Live Challenge. The venue is set to kick off on October 13th and the first leg will be hosted by Garden City Mall located in New Jersey. The winner will be decided after the event will visit 8 cities across America and he or she will have a trip for two to Las Vegas where the finals of the competition will take place.

NBA Live Challenge finals have been set to take place during the NBA All-Star Weekend. The one who will come out victorious after the finals will win the US$ 50,000 grand prize. Competitors will be required to play the Xbox version of the NBA Live 07 and to sign up on the NBA Live Challenge website.

The game originates back in 1989, when the first version was released for the Sega Mega Drive/Sega Genesis. It has come a long way since then, as the first "ancestor" of NBA Live 07, called "Lakers versus Celtics" used a horizontal view. But the official start of the NBA Live series was marked with the launch of NBA Live '95. Because of the large success registered by the basketball simulator, the series continued with NBA Live '96, '97, '98 and so on until its latest release: NBA Live 07.
