There are plenty of people who'd tell you not to take Twitter too seriously, or that they don't take Twitter too seriously, until they do. And they lay out a $500,000, €363,000 fine just to show how serious they are.NBA team Miami Heat owner Micky Arison was the one that got the fine, from the higher ups at NBA. Surely then it must have been a horrendous tweet? Judge for yourself, here's what he said: "barking at the wrong owner."
This was in response to a rather enraged fan complaining about the current NBA 'lockdown.' He also pointed out some other owners who may have been to blame.
While he did delete the tweets later, they were enough to get him fined, the biggest fine against an NBA owner to date. The politics of it all will interest NBA fans alone, but it does go to show that anything you say on Twitter, much like the rest of the web, can come back to haunt you.
