The basketball games market is a very hard one. The decision that NBA will offer the rights to the teams and players' looks as a common asset to two major companies which develop basketball related games, EA Sports with its NBA Live 09 title and 2K Sports with NBA 2K9, has really heated up the competition between them.

The two games were released a few days ago, and after playing the demos which are available for download on the PlayStation Store and on the Xbox Live Marketplace, they both look and play very well. But the setting of this battle has been changed by 2K Sports. In an unprecedented move, the company will be bringing its basketball franchise onto the PC. After seeing that Electronic Arts have no intentions of bringing their Live 09 title to the PC, 2K have seen an opportunity and would be shipping a Windows version.

This edition of the game will be set to ship out on October 21. This surely is great news for PC gamers who, before this, had only NBA Live 08 to play on their favorite platform. It will definitely be a title that a lot of gamers will buy, as basketball has always been popular not only in the United States but around the world.
