The team at Visual Concepts and publisher 2K Games are announcing that they are offering all basketball fans a new version of the upcoming NBA 2K16, called The Tip-Off Edition, which is designed to give all those who pick it up access to the sim on September 25.

At the moment, all those who pre-order the title will get access to it, which means that a large portion of the community will be able to get the game four days before it is officially launched.

A number of big NBA stars, including Shaquille O'Neal, have announced that they are planning to get the Tip-Off version of the simulation.

NBA 2K16 will also include some extra content in pre-ordered packages, giving gamers access to 10,000 in Virtual Currency and a special NBA 2K MyTeam VIP pack, which has three Emerald Packs and a guaranteed superstar to use.

A Gold Booster Pack for the same mode is also introduced, with one player and four other items.

The Tip-Off version of NBA 2K16 can be obtained at Amazon and GameStop, and fans should also check in with other retailers for availability.

The basketball title will be offered on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and older home consoles.

NBA 2K16 aims to improve some core franchise mechanics

The series created by Visual Concepts has been dominating the basketball simulation space for some years and the development team has not announced any major tweaks for the coming installment.

A full list of the mechanics that have been improved will arrive in the coming weeks but expect a focus on the control system, and the way players collaborate on both offense and defense.

2K Games has not yet announced whether it plans to bring in a high-profile musician to handle the music after it worked with Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams for previous installments.

NBA 2K16 will have to face off against a new installment of the NBA Live series from EA Sports, which will need to introduce a range of improvements to its own list of features in order to become a capable competitor.
