Video game developer Visual Concepts and publisher 2K Games announce that they have officially finished development work on the new NBA 2K15, with the game going Gold ahead of its launch on October 7 of this year.

The information comes from the official Twitter account of the basketball simulation series and it basically means that the code for the game is now complete and the two companies are now manufacturing the disks that will be offered in stores.

The title will also be offered via digital distribution and the development team will continue to work to find bugs and to make small changes to the core mechanics.

They might be part of a day one patch for NBA 2K15 or might be held back for a while in order to be incorporated with other changes that are based on feedback coming from the player community.

Visual Concepts says that the new version of the long-running title is designed to introduce more realistic mechanics for players, and recently, they have also delivered a Momentous Moments trailer that focuses on the quality of the graphics.

NBA 2K15 will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and last-gen consoles.

It will face competition from a reborn NBA Live 15 from EA Sports.
