Video game publisher 2K Sports is delivering new footage for its newly announced NBA 2K14, which is showing pre-alpha footage taken from the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

The trailer features LeBron James, who is the cover athlete for the new simulation title, and gameplay looks pretty smooth given that the game is still early in the development process.

2K Sports says that it plans for all trailers of NBA 2K14 to feature footage taken directly from the game engine.

The game will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 3, the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in addition to the next-gen Sony device.

The new game will deliver an increased realism level and new game modes, some of them only offered to those who pre-order.

Current-gen launch date is set for October 8.
