A number of gamers playing NBA 2K14 on the PlayStation 4 are saying that the game moves a number of the core game features to the cloud infrastructure that 2K Games has created, making it difficult to play the game offline.

Reports on NeoGAF are saying that saves, roosters and all the features of NBA Today can only be accessed by those who have their home console connected to the Internet and to the official servers for the game.

Outages have already been reported, which makes it tougher for NBA lovers to experience the various game modes.

The PlayStation Network was also affected by outages when the PlayStation 4 was launched and that means many NBA 2K14 players have rosters that cannot be accessed unless the servers go down again.

The team that created the basketball sim has not yet offered an official response to the reports coming from the community.

They presumably are investigating the matter and will deliver a patch for the PlayStation 4 version of NBA 2K14 that will fix all the problems associated with cloud content and offline modes.

The title is also set to be launched on the Xbox One from Microsoft, when it is available on 13 core markets on November 22,

NBA 2K14 introduces an entirely new campaign based on the exploits of LeBron James, widely considered to be the best basketball player of the moment.

At the same time, 2K Games has introduced an enhanced control system, which uses the right stick on the controller for all dribbling actions, giving the gamer more freedom to use his favorite players to create impressive moves.

NBA 2K14 will face tough competition on next-gen consoles from NBA Live 14, which is created by EA Sports and marks the return of the series after a two-year absence.
