Starting today, November 26, the National Defence College training center in Tartu, Estonia, is hosting NATO’s Cyber Coalition 2013 exercise.

The cyber exercise aims at testing the capabilities of NATO members when it comes to responding to large-scale cyberattacks.

Representatives of 27 nations and NATO partners from Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Ireland and Finland will take part in the drill that will last for three days. New Zealand and the European Union will take part as observers.

A total of 400 people will participate in Cyber Coalition 2013, including government, legal and IT experts. 100 of them will be present in Tartu, while the other 300 will attend from various capital cities.

Participants will put their skills to the test to show how they would respond to a cyberattack. Action, coordination and collaboration are needed to successfully handle the simulated attack.
