The widow of a NASCAR aficionado is suing a Catholic church in Indianapolis for not allowing her to install her husband's custom-made headstone.

According to Opposing Views, Shannon Carr spent $9,600 (€7,400) on a granite tomb stone honoring her husband's passion for NASCAR. Ironically, Jason Carr passed away in 2009, in a car crash.

The NASCAR and Indianapolis Colts colored logos are apparently engraved on the couch-shaped stone, which also features pictures of a deer and a dog.

Shannon wanted to install the tombstone in 2010, but she was refused by the institution that owns the cemetery, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis Properties Inc.

She claims that they drafted new regulations on the matter after she came to them asking to customize her husband's final resting place.
