Just in case anyone doubted that brainiacs too know how to have fun, here is the official poster for the International Space Station Expedition 45. Yes, it's Star Wars-themed and, yes, it's insanely cool.

The astronauts, two of them with NASA, one from Japan and three from Russia, are all wearing dark brown robes and holding lightsabers. Even the mission logo looks like a Star Destroyer.

By the looks of it, it was astronaut Kjell Lindgren that came up with the idea to make this Star Wars-inspired poster. Needless to say, this space explorer is likely a big fan of George Lucas and his work.

Looking to stick to this Star Wars theme, NASA even came up with a catchy title for this adventure, “International Space Station Expedition XLV: The Science Continues.”

As detailed by NASA, Expedition 45's crew includes commander Scot Kelly and flight engineers Mikhail Kornienko, Kjell Lindgren, Sergei Volkov, Oleg Kononenko and Kimiya Yui.

It is understood that these six astronauts will all be together aboard the International Space Station not long from now, in September. Of them, Scott Kelly and Mikhail Kornienko will not return to Earth for a year.

Mind you, this is not the first space mission poster to spoof movies or even bands. Check out the gallery below to have a look at other funny posters NASA's has come up with over the years.
