As far as netbooks go, the Intel Atom N550 central processor can be seen as one of the most capable CPU options, and Samsung was efficient in adopting it for its N350 netbook, an entry-level mobile PC that has now started selling in the UK.

Some time ago, this very same N350 was announced as the first low-end laptop to be equipped with LTE (Long Term Evolution). It even had HDPS+ support.

Strangely enough, however, the model now available in the UK does not seem to possess either of these elements, making it a, more or less, 'common' model.

The configuration, as already mentioned, is centered around the Atom N550 dual-core CPU, whose clock speed is of 1.5 GHz.

This chip is backed up by 1 GB of RAM and paired with, as one may expect, the GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) 3150 integrated graphics.

There is also a hard disk drive with an internal storage capacity of 250 GB, plus the full range of connectivity and I/O options that end-users have come to expect.

The list includes 10/100 LAN, a 4-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a 3-cell battery.

Said battery can keep the whole thing operational for a period of up to 6.5 hours on a single charge.

Of course, the netbook has its very own screen with a diagonal of 10.1 inches, LED backlighting and a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

Finally, the machine has a weight of 1.03 kg which, combined with the battery life, should make it a fine traveling companion, even though it does lack LTE.

As one would expect, the device is pre-loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 Starter operating system, the same as most other Pine trail netbooks.

Those interested in buying one will have to part with the sum of £349.
