Touch and multi-touch technologies are becoming an increasingly present feature of today's personal computer systems, providing end-users with a choice for a convenient way to interact with the latest features available on PCs. N-Trig announced today that its DuoSense technology, combining both pen and capacitive multi-touch solutions in a single device, was adopted by Dell for its Studio 17 laptop. Available as a configuration option for Dell customers, the new solution will enable users to enjoy the laptop's features in a more interactive way.

“By combining our solution with a 17 inch screen on a laptop, we are establishing a new standard not only for multi-touch but in how users approach using a computer,” says Amichai Ben David, CEO, N-trig. “With multi-touch becoming more widespread in the marketplace, consumers now have more opportunities to experience different ways in which to interact directly with their computer, whether working on a project, surfing online or playing games, taking the user's computing experience to entirely new levels.”

Dell's Studio 17 notebook has been featured with a large 17.3-inch display, which makes it a noteworthy choice for consumers looking to take advantage of the multi-touch support that has been implemented into Microsoft's latest Windows 7 operating system. With N-trig's DuoSense technology, available as an option for Dell customers and the Windows 7 multi-touch support, users of Dell's Studio 17 will get to enjoy computing in a new way.

The company has also put up a demo video of what the DuoSense technology can enable on Dell's large 17-inch Studio 17 laptop. As you can see in the video below, the laptop's large display enables two users to interact with the various multi-touch-ready applications available on the system.
